How can it be August already?

Just when we thought the first half of the year was amazing there is so much more in store for the second half of the year at JCI Portsmouth. July saw our most popular training and social events in 2013 thus far. We also, for the second year, volunteered at the Portsmouth Race for Life 10K and 5K run event. Check out our blog and inspirational video. And while August is a bit quieter, so as not to conflict with summer holidays, we will be hitting the Wedgewood Rooms Comedy Night on Friday 16 August. So make sure you register your interest so we reserve a table big enough for all.

JCI Portsmouth will also be hosting a members only JCI South training and social event called Summerfest on Saturday 24 August. The event features Presentation Skills training and JCI Achieve training concluding with a fun filled social evening of events. Space is limited so reserve your spot now to avoid disappointment.

September will be here before we know it, not that I am trying to will the year to go by any faster. Our September training event is hosted by David Jones who will demystify what The Cloud is all about and how it can help you and your business. Join us for a social and chilled out networking on Thursday 12 September at The Wine Vaults.

Some teasers for events to come this year include a new members' event, a culinary themed social and networking with a twist. So make sure you keep an eye on our social media channels to keep up with all the latest. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Finally, I am so excited to announce that we have had three members join the council team. Natasha Buivids has taken on the role of Deputy President and will be joining me in Birmingham the weekend of September 14 for the National AGM. Luke Gallagher has joined the team as Marketing Director and will be helping to spread the word in and around Portsmouth. And last but certainly not least is Roxy Negru who will be taking on the role as Training Director. Roxy is a recent University of Portsmouth grad and will be overseeing the training program for JCI Portsmouth. If you would like to learn more about the Council Team, please visit our 'Meet the Council' page. Please help me welcome our new team members.

Please feel free to get in contact with any questions, comments or suggestions as we are here for you.
