Young people net cash to help tackle malaria

A GROUP in Boston has staged a series of events and campaigns to raise money to combat malaria.
JCI (Junior Chamber International) Boston is an organisation that aims to provide opportunities for young people to develop themselves and help others.
Since the start of the year, the group has been fundraising in aid of the UN Foundation's Nothing But Nets initiative.
This has seen £612.50 raised by recycling mobile telephones in a link-up with Duncan and Toplis in Boston and a company called Cordaid in Holland.
A market stall, which included a hook-a-duck competition, saw £97.67 raised, and £30.12 has so far been gathered through a penny jar collection.
Finally, a clothes collection in conjunction with Bag 2 The Future has seen 42 bags collected, which will be weighed and shipped off to places such as Japan, if suitable.
The 141 (Boston) Air cadets have also been supporting the fundraising effort with the clothes and penny collections.
Its penny jar contained £14.96 and the group collected 10 bags of clothes.
JCI Boston president Tracy Anderson told the Target: "We would like to thank the Air Cadets at 141 (Boston) and anyone else who has supported them and the Nothing But Nets campaign."
