This week we are celebrating all things membership in JCI and will be meeting some of our members from chambers around the country.  To start us off we meet Luke Gallagher, a new member from JCI Portsmouth.

How did you hear about JCI?
I heard about JCI through a former housemate, who was starting out herself at the Portsmouth chamber. She recommended it as something I would be interested in, so I gave it a go.

What persuaded you to join?
The warmth given to me by the members. They were very friendly and open to me. Also my first event was a useful training seminar on self confidence and I saw first hand how the training events can be extremely useful.

What was your first event?
As mentioned before, by first event was a training event on Self confidence and awareness

What was your first impression and has that changed since?
My first impression was that this chamber was one of a friendly and happy group, with a great group of people with a determination and drives to provide great events and make a difference in the community. This opinion has not changed.

What are you looking forward to in your first year of membership?
To expand the chamber and all the exciting and wonderful events that the chamber have planned. The national event in Leeds will be a fantastic event to go to also.
