National Convention Competition Champions
Each year, competitions are held at the JCI National Convention as a fun way to help our members strive to becoming a World Changer and developing vital skills that will help to become young leaders.  The three competitions this year were Public Speaking, Debating and Extempore, and yet again we were blown away by the incredible participants and overall outcome!   Meet this years champions:

First Timer Award:

MARA POLANSKY

"I'm honoured to have been selected!  This was indeed my first time at JCI's National Convention and it didn't disappoint. I'm happy to have done my local chamber proud and I'm looking forward to future events!"

Mara, from JCI Manchester, has been awarded our first timer award, participating in extempore, debating and managing to completely fill her first time booklet too! The hard work definitely paid off, we're honoured to have you as a member Mara!

Debating Champions:

JCI SOUTHAMPTON

"Point of Information: You are the Government."

The 2018 debating champions from JCI Southampton earned the award with their excellent debates on 'Barbie is not just a doll, she is an icon' (against) and 'Veganism is the only way to save the planet' (against).

Best Debater:

SOPHIE DELAPORTE

"The debating competition was a lot of fun. Debates are very lively while keeping the typical JCI friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed this competition and winning the championship as well made it even better."

Our Best Debater Award was well earned by Sophie from JCI Southampton, who amazed all watching with her fiery yet professional attitude that could persuade even the sceptical! Well done Sophie

Extempore Champion:

MICHAEL LYNCH

The Extempore King this year is Michael Lynch from JCI Belfast, with an incredible performance talking about everything from a Pritt Stick to the Pope in the North Pole, you would never have guessed it was his first time doing Extempore!
