Hopping into Spring!
Hopping into Spring!
Welcome to the April edition of the JCI Barnsley Banter. It’s been another busy month for our members, we’ve been training for the Yorkshire Three Peaks in July, volunteering and collecting Easter Eggs as well as our normal monthly training and socials.
One of the big focuses this month has been our Easter Egg appeal in aid of Barnsley Hospital Charity. The idea is for people to donate an Easter Egg that will be given to a child who is spending Easter in hospital and away from their family. We’ve had great support from our members, their friends and relatives as well as local companies very kindly donating to the total. We’re still collecting at the moment so we can’t give you the total donated yet, but we will do next month. If you haven’t donated an egg yet, there is still time and every one will make a difference. You can drop your Easter Egg off at the Digital Media Centre on County Way in Barnsley, or if you e-mail us on jcibarnsley@hotmail.co.uk then we can arrange a time to pick it up.

Members have also been helping out with the Rotary Clubs District Disability Games. It was a fun and rewarding day for all who attended, you can read more about it in the blog Jo has written below.
We also had a great training walk for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. You can read more about the walk in the blog by Peter below.
We’ve also got a great month of events coming up, including our annual Past Presidents Dinner, a public speaking training session, a couple of socials and also the handover of our Easter Egg appeal. If you want to come along to any of them, just get in touch and we can give you the details.
